Thank you very much for all the work you do on my behalf and on behalf of your other constituents.

Enclosed please find the book Religion of Peace? Why Christianity Is and Islam Isn’t, and the DVD Islam: What the West Needs to Know. I hope you will enjoy them.

I respectfully ask you to consider the contents of the book and DVD whenever you have to deal with immigration legislation or you hear news of the nearly global Islamic persecution of Christians, which has been aptly labeled a new Holocaust.¹

Consider the following facts, which are relevant not just to Christians, but to non-Muslims and Muslims of all stripes:

-- Islamic death threats against increasing numbers of journalists,² cartoonists,³ teachers,⁴ writers,⁵ democratic politicians,⁶ feminists,⁷ and other public figures show that the percentage of Muslims who desire to live under Islamic law, despite its dictatorial theocratic character, is not as small a percentage as Americans have often been told.

-- A 2006 Pew Research poll found that 24% of Jordanians, 26% of Egyptians, 33% of Indonesians, 38% of Pakistanis, and 61% of Nigerian Muslims “have a lot or some confidence in Osama Bin Laden.”⁸ Similar percentages could be adduced in the case of many other Islamic nations.

-- A May 22, 2007 Pew Research poll shows that 7% of the estimated 450,000 American Muslims aged 18-29, i.e., about 31,000 Muslims, have “favorable views of Al Qaeda."⁹ Among all adult American Muslims, 5%, i.e., 75,000, have favorable views of Al Qaeda.¹⁰ And those numbers may well be too low, since some poll respondents surely would not admit to favorable views of Bin Laden’s organization.

-- From the same 2007 Pew poll, one learns that at least 2% of American Muslims aged 18-29, which means an estimated 9,000 Muslims, believe suicide bombings against civilian targets are “often justified” to defend Islam.¹¹ Among all adult American Muslims, at least 1%, or 15,000, believe suicide bombings against civilians are often justified. Another 7%, or some 100,000 American Muslims, believe bombings against civilians are sometimes justified.¹²

-- Since after 9/11/01, over 10,000 deadly terrorist attacks in the name of Islam have victimized tens of thousands of civilians around the globe.¹³ The only large-scale mass public protests by Muslims against jihad terror have taken place in response to Muslim terror against other Muslims. There have, however, been large numbers of Muslim complaints about supposed “Islamophobia.” While some of those complaints are certainly sincere, it is not reassuring that both the Qur’an and traditions of Muhammad permit Muslims to deceive non-Muslims for the purpose of advancing the rule of Islamic law over non-Muslims and Muslims alike.¹⁴

-- In 2005, author Robert Spencer wrote: “It is now over five years since...Sufi Sheikh Muhammad Hisham Kabbani testified at a State Department Open Forum that Muslims holding an ‘extremist ideology’ had taken over ‘more than 80 percent of the mosques that have been established in the US. And there are more than 3000 mosques in the US.’ … Corroborating evidence came...from Freedom House, which released a report revealing the extent to which American mosques are filled with jihadist material…”¹⁵

We must not allow death threats and terrorism to pave the way for the slow creep of Islamic law into our private and public institutions, as we have begun to witness happening.¹⁶

I hope that somewhere in your busy schedule you will be able to find time to view the DVD and read the book. And since there is nothing in the U.S. Constitution that requires national suicide, I respectfully urge you to employ every possible legal means to prevent entrance to the U.S. (except for Christians, Jews, or other non-Muslims facing religious persecution) by would-be immigrants from nations where significant percentages of the population, even if not the majority, show decided sympathies for Islamic extremism, jihad, and sharia law. The threat to the West and its values is real and very active.¹⁷
